Jan Sikorsky

Jan Sikorsky headshot

Dr. Jan Sikorsky is a vice president of Product Planning & Development at Envision. Dr. Sikorsky has been with Envision and LeadAmerica, now part of Envision, for more than ten years, holding a number of positions including vice president of education and director of academics responsible for science and skills development programs. Under his leadership, Envision’s product offerings have hosted more than 100,000 students, providing in-depth looks into future academic and career success. In addition to his work at Envision, Dr. Sikorsky has held a number of adjunct faculty appointments including at Florida International University, where he’s currently facilitates a fully online graduate level course in Forensic Biology.

Dr. Sikorsky actively promotes quality teaching practices in science across the K-20 education continuum; having served on the National Science Teachers Association Committee on College Science Teaching – a committee charged with improving teaching practices of NSTA’s more than five thousand college educators. 

Dr. Sikorsky holds his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences and M.S. in Forensic Science from Marshall University, as well a B.S. in Medical Technology from Michigan State University.

Matt Castrina

Matt Castrina is the Senior Director of the Careers and Leadership Academy. Since 2003, Matt has developed and/or implemented programs for high-achieving middle school, college, university, and continuing education students in Australia, Austria, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, India, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United States. Matt is a graduate of La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Lois Bracey-Barnes

Lois Bracey-Barnes is the Senior Director of the STEM academy. She is responsible for the development and implementation of Envision’s STEM-related programming. Prior to coming to Envision, Lois worked in Maryland for the Prince George’s County Public School District as an elementary school teacher. During her time as a teacher, she served as grade level chairperson for second and third grade and as the math coordinator for the entire school. Lois earned a B.S. in Biology from Hampton University in Hampton, VA. 

Amanda Whitener

Amanda Whitener is the Senior Manager of STEM Programs at Envision. Her primary focus is creating high quality, student-led experiences, robust staff training, and innovative, career-focused curricula within the STEM Academy. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio, and a Master of Science from Illinois State University with a concentration in Conservation Biology. Prior to joining the Envision team in 2013, she served as the Director of Visitor and School Engagement for Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was active in all areas of program management including staff training, curriculum development, and assessment. 

Candice Johnson

Candice Johnson

Candice Johnson is the Senior Program Manager of the Careers and Leadership Academy.  Prior to starting her career with Envision in 2009, Candice worked as a mental health rehabilitation technician in Maine, providing integrated community mental health and substance abuse treatment for teenagers.  She also spent many years workings as a Peer Support Developer for children with developmental disabilities. Candice holds a Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
