The Mission Continues...

Envision Alumni will deepen their exposure to STEM careers through real-world, hands-on experiences at NYLF Explore STEM Alumni. Over six impactful days on the campus of Villanova University, students will explore new career opportunities, gain increased confidence and leadership skills, and take the next step in their "Mission to Mars" by working toward "Colonizing the Red Planet."

About National Youth Leadership Forum: Explore STEM Alumni

One Giant Leap for STEM Exploration

The NYLF Explore STEM Alumni program was developed specifically for students who previously attended the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Explore STEM. The program provides these students with the opportunity to build upon their previous Envision experience and further fuel their passion for a future career in STEM.

At NYLF Explore STEM Alumni, students learn by doing as they take part in a challenging hands-on simulation, three unique and exclusive immersion experiences, and Maker Centers that allow them to prototype their ideas and showcase their creativity.

The theme for NYLF Explore STEM Alumni is "Colonizing the Red Planet." The students' will turn their focus from simply preparing for a "Mission to Mars" to solving for one of the greatest challenges to sustaining long-term life on Mars.

Few fields are more important to the future of mankind than STEM and few show as much promise for future careers. During the program, students will gain increased exposure to STEM opportunities and further develop essential success skills while also reconnecting with old friends and forming new bonds with their fellow Envision alumni.

Explore Your Future

The STEM fields come to life through simulations, immersion experiences, and interaction with subject matter experts.

Students reconnect with friends made at past Envision programs and build new relationships with other STEM stars.

Explore STEM lightbulb

Students gain key cognitive abilities to help them excel in high school and beyond, including design thinking, critical analysis, and problem solving.

Yes. If you are a student with special needs or with disabilities, we encourage you to enroll. We may be able to provide you with auxiliary aids and services to assist you. Please call our Office of Admissions for more information or to discuss your particular needs prior to enrolling in the program.

Gaining independence, including experiencing new things on your own, is an essential part of your growth during the program. However, it is perfectly fine for your family to travel with you to the program location and stay in the area while you are attending the program.

  • Can special dietary needs be met?

Vegetarian options are always available. Kosher and Halal meals can be made available to you, provided the request is submitted prior to the start of the conference. When you complete the Student Information Form, you will have the opportunity to make special dietary requests.

  • What is the pre-conference assignment, FUEL?

The first step of your leadership journey includes assessing your strengths and opportunities for growth. To aid in this assessment, you must complete a brief pre-program assignment entitled Feedback for Understanding Emerging Leaders (FUEL).

The FUEL assignment will be available on your personal MyEnvisionExperience.com web page after you enroll. It simply requires that you choose five mentors – teachers, coaches, youth group leaders or other trusted adults – to complete a short survey about your leadership strengths. You also will complete a short self-assessment as part of the FUEL assignment
