About National Youth Leadership Forum: Advanced Medicine & Health Care
Focused Experiences for Tomorrow’s Professionals
At this challenging and rewarding program for high school students who are seriously considering a career in medicine, you will get an insider's tour of the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland (UMD) Medical Center and learn about its mission, patients, and programs. You'll also work with your peers to develop a public awareness and social media campaign around a current topic in public health, giving you firsthand experience in containing a public health threat, as well as participate in a first-responder simulation, upon completion of which you will receive a Stop the Bleed certification.
NYLF Advanced Medicine & Health Care will expose you to a broad range of educational pathways and accompanying careers in health care, providing you with a critical advantage as you make important decisions about your future in college, medical school, and beyond!
This is also a great chance for you to network with other talented students who share your interests and can contribute to like-minded conversations about your futures in medicine, and who will be your future colleagues. You'll acquire valuable information about which skills and educational components you need to be successful as a health care provider from professional medical personnel.
