• What is the most memorable moment of your program experience?

  My most memorable moment was the National Security simulation. It was a lot of fun to put everything we had learned throughout the week into action. 

• How was attending the program different than learning in a traditional classroom?

  I learned a lot more in a much shorter span of time. I was able to retain the knowledge faster and make a lot of new connections quicker.

  
  

• How has your program experience helped you focus on a career path?

  The program really opened my eyes to a new career path I had cast aside as unattainable. I planned to go straight into politics, but after the program I want to pursue intelligence. The program was very helpful in discerning what I want to do and what I want to study in college.

  
  

• What are your professional aspirations?

  I either want to go into the field of politics as a lobbyist, not elected office. Lobbyists have a lot of freedom to pick and choose their work and what they want to work on. The other option is to enter the intelligence community as a field agent to some degree. During my time at NYLF I learned a lot about the intelligence community and it fascinates me.

  It has solidified my goals and aspirations and has motivated me to continue pursuing them.

  
  

• How has your program experience impacted your life and your future?

  Go if you have the chance. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity that I wouldn't trade for anything. The lessons that come out of it are going to help you go far in life if used right.
