Contest Terms & Conditions
Contest Sponsor: Envision is the sponsor of the Envision Your Classroom 2018 Contest (“Contest”) described in these Contest Rules.
Eligibility: This Contest is open only to licensed teachers of grades 3-12 (“Entrants”) who are permanent residents of the United States of America. Entrants, or individuals featured in an entry, must be 21 years of age or older as of the date of entry and members of the Envision Nominator Network. To qualify as a member, the teacher must have nominated a student for an Envision program in the past, or do so by the end of the entry period on January 18, 2019 at 11:59pm EST. To be eligible to win a Prize, entries must be completed and received by Envision as described below. Directors, officers, and employees of Envision and any of its affiliated and successor companies, its or their professional advisors, advertising and promotional agencies, and Contest partners and prize suppliers, and immediate family members of any of them, are not eligible to participate. “Immediate family members” includes spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren, whether as “in-laws”, or by current or past marriage, remarriage, adoption, co-habitation or other familial extension, and any other persons residing at the same household location, whether or not related. All applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Contest void where restricted or prohibited by law.
Contest Period: The Contest shall commence on November 13, 2018 and shall end on January 18, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. EST (the “Contest Period”). All entries must be received during the Contest Period to be eligible to win a Prize. Any entries not received during the Contest Period will not be eligible, and such entries will not be considered. Envision also reserves the right in its sole discretion to suspend or cancel the Contest or any Entrant’s participation in the Contest should causes beyond the control of Envision corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the Contest or if Envision otherwise becomes (as determined in its sole discretion) incapable of running the Contest as planned.
Prizes: 10 Finalists will be selected by an Envision Selection Committee based on the Criteria set forth in these Contest Rules. The 10 Finalists’ projects will then be voted on by the public, using an online social media platform, and the Top 5 with the most votes will be awarded one of 5 $1,000 grants.
Some restrictions may apply. No substitution or exchange of Prizes or cash payment in lieu thereof will be permitted, except that Envision reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value for a Prize or any portion thereof. Prizes are not assignable or transferable. PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED “AS IS” AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE).

Entrants may enter the Contest by being a licensed educator in grades 3-12, and creating and submitting one project proposal, showcasing your original work that adheres to basic educational standards and practices.
No more than 1 Project Proposal may be submitted by any Entrant. Envision reserves the right to disqualify any participant who submits more than 1 project proposal, in its sole discretion. Participation in the Contest is voluntary and does not require you to purchase anything from Envision. No illegible, incomplete or forged entries will be accepted. All entries become the property of Envision and will not be returned. By participating in the Contest, you hereby assign, and will assign, to Envision all of your right, title and interest in the Project Proposal. For clarity and without limitation, Envision may reproduce, modify, display and otherwise use the Project Proposal for promotional purposes in any medium without additional compensation.

Entries: Use of any automated system or agent to submit entries is prohibited and will result in disqualification. In the event of a dispute as to any entry, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address used to enter will be deemed the Entrant. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an e-mail address by an organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. Potential winners may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder.
Any entries that do not meet the criteria set forth in these Contest Rules shall not be eligible and will not be considered. If Envision determines that any entry is not an original work, incorporates existing copyrighted works, or otherwise does not meet the criteria set forth in these Contest Rules, such entry will be disqualified. All entries become the exclusive property of Envision and will not be returned. By entering this Contest, you irrevocably license Envision and its sublicensees to reproduce, publicly display, publicly perform, distribute copies of, and make derivative works based on your submission.
Project Proposal Criteria. Project Proposals that are submitted in connection with the Contest will only be eligible if they (a) align with project objectives and are focused on career exploration or leadership development through a hands-on, immersive project experience , (b) contain all basic criteria, as described in the rules, (c) are submitted during the Contest Period, (d) contain only the Original Content of the participant and (e) do not contain content that is unlawful, hateful or obscene, in the Envision’s sole discretion. “Original Content” means project proposals that are created by the educator, and not project proposals that have been created, produced, or edited by another party. Envision will consider only those Project Proposals that meet all of these criteria, in the sole discretion of Envision. Envision reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify Project Proposals which it determines at any time in its sole judgment to fail to meet any of these criteria.
Selection of Winners: Envision will select 10 Project Proposal Finalists from among all eligible entries. Envision will judge the Project Proposals based on creativity, thoroughness of project plans detailed in proposal, and alignment with project objectives and requirements including that project must be centered around career exploration or leadership development through a hands-on, immersive project experience, among such other criteria as it may consider in its sole discretion. The 10 Finalists’ projects will then be voted on by the public, using an online social media platform, and the Top 5 with the most votes will be awarded one of 5 $1,000 grants.
Release and Affidavit: All Entrants release Envision and its affiliated and successor corporations, their directors, officers, shareholders, employees and other agents, professional advisors, advertising and promotion agencies, Contest partners and Prize suppliers, from and against all claims and damages arising in connection with the Entrant’s entry and/or participation in the Contest and/or his or her receipt or use of any prize awarded in the Contest. As a condition to being awarded a Prize, the winner will be required to execute and deliver to Envision a signed Affidavit of Eligibility, which includes an acceptance of these Contest Rules and a certification of age and residence, and a release of liability.
Taxes: All federal, state and local taxes (including any sales taxes) associated with the receipt or use of a Prize will be the sole responsibility of the winner. The winner may receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year if the value of any Prize received is within IRS guidelines, and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS. Any additional costs relating to the Prize, and incurred as a result of accepting a prize, are the sole responsibility of the winner.
Disclaimer: Envision and its affiliated and successor corporations, their directors, officers, shareholders, employees and other agents, will not be responsible for: (a) entries that are incomplete, late, lost, illegible, misplaced, misdirected or mutilated; (b) telephone, electronic, hardware, software, network, or other computer-related or communications-related malfunctions or failures; (c) any Contest disruptions, injuries, losses or damages caused by events beyond the control of Envision; or (d) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Contest. Envision shall not be responsible for the quality or adequacy of the Prize or any portion thereof or the products or services to be provided to the Prize winner. Envision will not be responsible or liable for loss or injury resulting from Entrants entering the Contest, or from the winner’s acceptance or use or misuse of the Prize or any portion thereof. The winner will be required to sign a liability waiver. By submitting an entry, all Entrants accept and agree to these Contest Rules and the decisions of Envision in administering the Contest, which shall be final. The winner assumes complete liability for damage to property or injuries to the winner and his or her guest caused or claimed to be caused by participation in the Contest, or the use or misuse of the Prize or any portion thereof.
Winner Notification/Prize Awards: The Top 10 Finalists will be notified by e-mail and phone using the information provided when the Entrant signed up to submit their contest materials by January 28, 2019. Finalists must confirm notification of win and submit summary of proposal for online voting within 7 days of receiving notification. Such notification shall include instructions for submission of summary of proposal. In the event that a finalist cannot be reached within the 7 days, they forfeit place as finalist and a new finalist will be selected. Final 5 Winners will be announced on March 11, 2019. Winners will be notified by email and phone using the information provided when the Entrant signed up to submit their contest materials within 30 days of the date the winners are selected. Such notification shall include instructions for proper acceptance of the prizes by the winners. In the event a winner does not accept a prize, a winner is ineligible, or the prize or prize notification is not deliverable, an alternate winner may be selected. Envision is not responsible for and shall not be liable for late, lost, misdirected or unsuccessful efforts to notify a winner. The winners agree to Envision’s use of their name, address, likeness, and prize information for promotional purposes in any medium without additional compensation to the extent permitted by law. Project must be implemented by the end of 2019, upon which winners agree to submit a Project Report, including article and photos, for an Envision newsletter showcasing project implementation.
Disclosure of Winner/Submissions: All approved submissions may be published on the Envision website and mentioned in press releases, Blogs and Facebook postings.
Personal Information: The entry form to be submitted to enter the Contest includes personal information such as your name, age, address, telephone number, and email address. By supplying the optional fields for a “display name”, the entrant gives permission to Envision to display this information. This information will only be used to verify your eligibility to enter the Contest or to receive the Prize if you are chosen as the winner or to contact you in the event that you are chosen to receive the Prize. Envision will not sell, rent or otherwise transfer this information to any third party, nor will Envision use this information for marketing purposes without your consent.
General Release: By entering the Contest, you release Envision and its affiliated and successor corporations, their directors, officers, shareholders, employees and other agents, professional advisors, advertising and promotion agencies, Contest partners and Prize suppliers from any liability whatsoever, and waive any and all causes of action, related to any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Contest or the delivery, misdelivery, acceptance, possession, use of or inability to use the Prize or any portion thereof (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, losses and damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light, whether intentional or unintentional), whether under a theory of contract, tort (including negligence), warranty or other theory.
Miscellaneous: The Contest and these Contest Rules will be governed, construed and interpreted under the laws of the United States. If any provision of these Contest Rules is declared to violate any federal, state or municipal law, it shall be amended to conform to such law and all other provisions shall remain in full force and effect. Entrants agree to be bound by these Contest Rules and by the decisions of Envision, which are final and binding in all respects. Entrants who violate these Contest Rules, tamper with the operation of the Contest or engage in any conduct that is detrimental or unfair to Envision, the Contest or any other Entrant (in each case as determined in Envision’s sole discretion) are subject to disqualification from the Contest.
