On Friday, our country will welcome a new POTUS and an entirely new administration. The past election cycle was perhaps the most unique and divisive in our nation’s history, and the challenges facing our country are complex. However, the new administration won’t be tackling these issues alone. This week, over 2,500 middle school, high school, and college students from across the United States will gather to participate in Envision’s 9th
Presidential Inauguration Leadership Summit, in which the students will design real-world solutions to the challenges facing the President, our country, and the world.
Welcome to the Presidential Inauguration Leadership Summit
I’d like to take this opportunity to personally welcome the delegation of extraordinary Summit scholars to Washington DC for this historic event. The next five unforgettable days will be highlighted with new experiences, new friends, and personal growth.
In addition to attending the 58th Presidential Inauguration on the National Mall, students will be treated to an unparalleled slate of inspiring speakers and have the opportunity to engage in the political process, joining peers from diverse backgrounds in the effort to make a substantive difference in the world.
Delegations for Change
In the Summit’s
Delegations for Change workshops, also known as “Issues 2020,” the students will choose a topic they’re passionate about, gain a deeper understanding of the issue, and then work with their peers to devise ways to affect positive change. Six of the most outstanding solution presentations will be selected as winners, and the participants will receive grants to support their future. All of the submitted delegation solutions will be compiled, published, and sent to the new president and congress.
The students have many fascinating subjects to dive into, such as “Drones, Clones & Genomes,” which explores innovations in technology and ways to optimize the future impact of technology on humanity; or the environmental focus of “Racing Extinction,” which examines the impact that humanity has on our planet and the policies required to preserve our world for future generations.

The Promise of a New Generation
Our nation is still polarized and divided in many ways, but I believe our youth are the “antidote” to this polarization. At the Presidential Inauguration Leadership Summit, our young people are coming together, despite different backgrounds and experiences, to collaboratively tackle the problems facing their generation. The Summit is specifically designed to empower these next-generation leaders to engage in history, letting their voices be heard as they work together toward a promising future.
I’m proud and excited to be a part of it! Carpe Futurum!
