Worth Sharing: Forbes’  30 Under 30 in Education

Every year since 2013, Forbes has selected the world’s top thirty “game changers, movers and makers” who are less than thirty years of age. Forbes’  objective is to place a “premier spotlight on the entrepreneurial-minded bright young stars who are transforming the world.” They select thirty from each of a variety of categories, including Education, Art & Style, Consumer Tech, Finance and Health Care.

We think you’ll enjoy all the stories of these high-achieving millennials in Education who, in Forbes’  words “are rethinking learning with the three Cs: code, college readiness and community impact.” The Forbes article includes photos and video conversations, as well as a few facts about the most influential alumni from the past.

Leading the Forbes’  Education category is Alex Klein, who we cover in a special Educator Spotlight piece this week. Others from the Education category include Michael Carter, age 26, who founded Strive for College when he was a freshman at Washington University. Strive for College pairs high-performing college students with low-income high school kids, for free, one-on-one college prep mentoring. Through this organization, Michael is achieving his goal to significantly improve college acceptance rates for underprivileged students.

Do you know a world-changing educator worthy of this list? Forbes reminds us that these exceptional people could easily include “your college roommates, colleagues and mentees, childhood friends and even people you’ve read about or followed who thrill and inspire.” Forbes is accepting nominations now for 2016.
