Dr. Andrew Jay (Drew) Feustel is a former NASA astronaut and veteran of 3 space missions. He also served as the Deputy Chief Astronaut (2020-2022) and acting Chief Astronaut (2022-2023).
Dr. Feustel holds an Associate Science degree from Oakland Community College, Michigan, a B.S. in Solid Earth Sciences and an M.S. in Geophysics from Purdue University, and a Ph.D. in Seismology from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario.
His spaceflight experience includes 2 Space Shuttle missions: STS-125 Hubble Space Telescope repair and STS-134 final flight of Endeavour to the International Space Station (ISS). Most recently, in 2018, he flew on a Russian Soyuz rocket to the ISS and served as commander during Expedition 56 on a 197 day mission.
Drew began his career in the Canadian mining industry and later worked with the ExxonMobil Exploration Corporation in Houston, Texas as an exploration geophysicist before joining the Astronaut Corps in 2000.
