Full Immersion in Game Design at Home
Game Design with Roblox provides participants the ability to express their creativity, build complex structures, identify and solve difficult problems, and practice independence. Gamers will design a game utilizing one of the base game templates, including Platformer, Racer, and RPG, and customize it with tutorials. Upon completing their game, students will publish it to Roblox, add friends, and learn about making Robux (virtual money used in the game).
The program is designed to be simple to navigate, comprised of 10 sessions that gamers can complete at their own pace. Additionally, Teacher Resources are available in the platform if a student needs help from a family member or friend as they progress through the lessons.
Prerequisites: Participants should be reasonably proficient with a keyboard and mouse, as this course requires some typing. Each student should also have a Roblox account before beginning the program. Create an account for your student at roblox.com. You can find more information about Lua coding at lua.org/about.html.
