About the International Scholar Laureate Program
Gain an International Perspective on Your Career
Imagine opening an interview with a true story about the day you analyzed multilateral relations at a European embassy in Beijing, discussed tropical medicine with a researcher in Australia or hydroelectricity with an engineer at the Three Gorges Dam. In our increasingly competitive world, this is the advantage you need—both during an interview and in your career that follows. It is this experience that the International Scholar Laureate Program (ISLP) is all about, and it could be yours.
With delegations on Business & Entrepreneurship, Engineering & Technology, International Relations & Diplomacy, Medicine & Science, and Nursing & Health Care, ISLP will take you to influential global destinations and give you exceptional life and career experiences.
Prior to your time in country, you will be given pre-program readings about the local culture and topics relevant to your career field that will supplement your research and prepare you for your trip. While attending ISLP, you will spend time with an Advisor as well as a small group of your fellow delegates in Team Breakout Sessions. Over these five sessions, your Advisor will facilitate discussions on cross-cultural topics and building career skills. You and your peers will also prepare for, reflect upon, and share your thoughts about program events, speaking event topics, and cultural experiences during these meetings.
Alumni of this engaging opportunity consistently report that attending ISLP has given them a competitive edge in their careers by increasing their ability to identify multiple paths within their chosen field and sharpening the skills required to pursue them. Past scholars also report the ISLP experience connected them to a network of students and professionals in the field, as well as new friends.
By completing this program, you are eligible to receive college credit from George Mason University
